We are looking for a more dependable holistic doctor.
My review is the same as Jeremy's... Paid a lot of money to have some labs run a few years ago by Dr. Miller's nurse practioner. I live about a 30 minute drive from their office and did not want to make another appointment if the labs were fine. They would not give me the results of the labs without coming in for another appointment. The results are the individuals and should not be withheld from a patient. I think the only way to get the results would be to get a copy of my medical records. I changed doctors very quickly after that experience and never found out what the results were. I agree with others who have stated that this place never finds a solution and only wants you to come back for every little thing, especially when some things could be handled over the phone.
My wife has gone in for pain, had tests run, and left without a solution. All tests look good. "Come back tomorrow and we will do an ultrasound if you are still experiencing pain." That very night we had to go to the ER because the pain was unbearable. Their tests come back with a bladder and kidney infection. If this was an abnormal situation then I would be fine but our experience from here says that it is the norm.
My wife has used Dr Miller's office for a few years now. The positive is that everyone in the office is very nice. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. More often than not, a visit to the doctor turns into two or three visits to the doctor before a problem is identified.
Dr. Miller and the team at Birmingham Integrative Health are great. We are a family of eight and have only had positive experiences here. Everybody is cheerful, competent and easy to work with. Dr. Miller takes the time to listen and I highly recommend her and her team.
Dr Miller is the only Dr I know of actually practices preventative medicine. This practice is ultimately concerned with the health and well-being of their patients and are not just pushing the latest pharmaceuticals to treat symptoms.
We loved Dr. Miller, but on more than one occasion the front desk staff were terribly unprofessional. My wife had labs done prior to myself changing jobs forcing us to change insurance. Dr. Miller was now out of network for out new insurance. They wouldn't tell my wife her lab results without an appointment which would have been much more expensive now, but they finally did. It was a very disappointing experience.
