I guess maybe my rating is tempered by low expectations but I have found the staff on the phone and in person very accommodating. Having lived in 5 different States, I have some perspective on this. I’d say Trussville Town Hall provides above average service.
Sure, the service at a government agency is usually not as good as a business that needs to satisfy customers to stay in business. Like the DMV, or Post Office, the town hall doesn’t need to make a profit.
The Trussville Municipal Court front office is employed by the most incompetent, rude, and immature people I have ever interacted with. I was given purposefully wrong information, I was bullied off the phone for asking questions about a 7 year old case, I was told by the supervisor that her employee gave me wrong information because (and I quote) "she did not feel like checking the archives," and finally after bringing this to the attention to the supervisor was hastily given excuses as to how it's not their fault. I cannot fathom the incompetency in this department. I was told I would receive a phone call by the end of the next business day, and after 3 business days I finally got the call. I also brought this up to the supervisor and she literally told me that it was my fault for not calling back. My employer, and I assume most employers, expect their employees to make call backs in the time allotted to the "customer." There is also no way to file a complaint, you will get trifling excuse after excuse, then transferred to the so called supervisor for more excuses about how it's not her fault. Maybe one day the city will hire competent employees that actually do their job, because their job can make or break families and careers, I do not want that power in the hands of these children any longer.
